Question by : How would I start a flag football league?
I want a recreational activity that I can do on weekends… But the current selection for adults in my area is sorely lacking! So I’d like to start a flag football league… Unfortunately I have NO idea how I would even go about doing this.
What should I do? What steps should I take?
Best roadmap to success for this gets 10.

It will take a lot of work, and starting a league takes money. Likely your own money! Lots of it.
To have a league…. first you need to secure playing fields. You’ll either need to rent or lease fields from city, county or private parks. Field maintenance isn’t cheap. Marking the field for play takes time and equipment and more money. You’ll need to line up enough referees, which are paid a fee per game, usually 2 to 3 per game. You’ll need flag belts, field pylons and yard markers. You’ll need to advertise, which costs more money. You’ll be required to have insurance. Again more money. Once all the advertising is done and registration is complete, you’ll need to schedule games, referees keep standings etc.
Running a sports league takes commitment, its hard work if your going to do it right. Starting a sports lage is even harder. Be prepared! Plan, Plan, Plan!

Bobby arrives in Honolulu for the marathon. en.wikipedia.org Honolulu is the capital of and the most populous census-designated place (CDP) in the US state of Hawaii. Although Honolulu refers to the urban area on the southeastern shore of the island of Oahu, the city and the county are consolidated, known as the City and County of Honolulu, and the city and county is designated as the entire island. The City and County of Honolulu is the only incorporated city in Hawaii, as all other local government entities are administered at the county level. The population of the CDP was 371657 at the 2000 census, while the population of the City and County was 909863. In the Hawaiian language, Honolulu means “sheltered bay” or “place of shelter.” www.honolulumarathon.org
