Flag Football at Winton
The ‘Royal Bank of CanadaFlag Football’ League will be held at Winton on Sundays, beginning in March. Bahamas Rugby has entered a team and is currently recruiting players. The boys will be training at Winton this Sunday at 2:00pm.
If you are interested in joining the team, either turn up on Sunday or contact Brian Baker ( brian.o.baker@gmail.comThis e-mail address is being protected from spambots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it ).
For the rugby purists who resent this latest incursion into the rugby centre, there are three good reasons why we view this as a positive initiative:
1. Its a good work-out for our players on a Sunday
2. There are some excellent athletes playing flag football and this provides a good recruiting platform for rugby.
3. They are paying quite a lot to use the facility, money which will go back into infrastructural development.

Flag football has been gaining in popularity in the US and around the world for the past couple of decades. But the sport has evolved past simply grabbing a flag off your opponent’s waist like you played in gym class.
